Isaiah 45:17

Israel is saved by the Lord with everlasting salvation; you shall not be put to shame or confounded to all eternity.   Isaiah 45:17

God promises to never leave us or forsake us.

We all know and can think of difficult times when we feel as though we have no one to turn to or trust with our innermost thoughts.  Even in good times, because of envy, we hesitate in sharing our good news.  But Jesus has promised us that he will always be there in good times and bad times.

IsnÂ’t it reassuring to know there is someone you can rely on and trust explicitly, who will always have your back?

As stated in Joshua 1:5, “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee:  I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

As we commemorate and celebrate the birth of Jesus, we need to focus on the reason for the season.  There is nothing more comforting than knowing God is always there in our presence – not in the manger, but sitting on the right hand of his father interceding for us.

The daily news does not inspire hope; it speaks only of doom and gloom, failure and grief.  But our good news, the Bible, tells us only of eternal hope, everlasting peace and abundant joy.

May peace, love and joy be yours this Advent Season.

Prayer:
Dear God, we express our thanks to you.  Thanks for your promises, for your assurances that you will stick closer than a brother, sister or best friend.  Help us to acknowledge your presence, not only during Advent, but every season of our life.  Amen.
