GOD'S MY DEFAULT!

I make no claims to being a techno wiz. A few years now I have made Mozilla Firefox my DEFAULT browser on my laptop. However every now and again I will use Internet Explorer to surf the web. But whenever I use Internet Explorer I am always asked the same question which is ‘do I want to make Explorer my DEFAULT browser. I’m yet to say yes simply because I’ve already set up my laptop to use Firefox. Though I must admit that for me there’s no real big difference between the two. I know if I switch to Explorer then when I go to use Firefox I will be asked the same question. You just can’t win! With that in mind our FF for today is for us to profess that in our living we can all say that GOD’S MY DEFAULT!

Usually when we use the word DEFAULT itÂ’s not complimentary. For example, when a person is in DEFAULT with the bank it means that he/she is behind in meeting the agreed payment in servicing a loan. Nobody likes to be in DEFAULT because it gives you a bad credit rating. But when we profess today that GODÂ’S MY DEFAULT, I want us to use DEFAULT the way it used in the techno world. It is our confessing that GODÂ’S our first choice. Or maybe even better that GODÂ’S our only option. GODÂ’S my go-to as it were. After all, every electronic device is manufactured with a DEFAULT setting. Depending on what it is we can go and adjust those settings. And yet isnÂ’t it amazing that if for some reason the device is acting up, thereÂ’s a little reset button which if pushed takes it right back not to the DEFAULT settings that we put in but the DEFAULT settings that the manufacturer built in.

GOD has designed each of us with a DEFAULT setting and there’s no denying that it is what I would call a ‘divine DEFAULT’. That means that deposited in each of us is something of the nature of GOD. Aren’t we all made in the image and likeness of GOD? But the longer we live we give in to the temptation of removing GOD as our DEFAULT and instead we make gods of our own and make them our DEFAULT. So there are those who have made the acquiring of money at any cost their DEFAULT. Some have allowed the world’s concept of success and upward social mobility their DEFAULT. It is even possible for parents to make their children their DEFAULT. But we soon learn that the gods we’ve made our DEFAULT will eventually disappoint. And when you and I no longer profess that GOD’S MY DEFAULT the same GOD will allow our lives to reach a point where we learn that we have no other choice but to hit the reset button and go back to the original DEFAULT – GOD!

If you have not yet reached to that place, I encourage you today to do an inventory of your life. See where GOD is no longer our DEFAULT. And the Holy Spirit is like the Internet Explorer in that with each day that we spend without GOD as our DEFAULT, the Spirit keeps asking us to consider making GOD the DEFAULT for our daily living. If you’ve said no repeatedly, say yes today! Then all of heaven will rejoice. Hallelujah – another soul can convincingly declare to the world – GOD’S MY DEFAULT!
