Leviticus 19:31
Do not turn to mediums or wizards; do not seek them out, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 19:31
In todayÂ’s society many persons want to get through life on their own or do things that are not of God. Leviticus 19:2b says: Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy. To be holy means to separate ourselves from sin.

We may ask: how can an unholy people approach a holy God? By separating ourselves from sin and dedicating ourselves to God; he wants to remove sin from our lives.
In Leviticus chapters 18 and 19 are standards and laws for persons to live by instead of turning to mediums such as palm reading, psychics, witchcraft etc. God gave clear standards for living a holy life.
Colossians 1:13 speaks about being rescued from the power of darkness and being transferred into the kingdom of his beloved son. Being transferred from darkness to light, from guilt to forgiveness, from the power of Satan and the greed of mediums, we can serve God and forget all other forms of sin that can come between us and God.
At this Advent season as we look forward to the coming of Christ, a babe born in a manger who will save the people and nations of this world from their sin, we are cautioned in scripture about worrying; since our heavenly Father knows what we need (Matthew 6:25-34). We must seek first the Kingdom and his righteousness and all things will be given to you (NIV). We can therefore forget about palm reading, witchcraft, daily horoscope etc. and turn to God who can supply all our need.
Prayer:
Oh, come to my heart, Lord Jesus, there is room in my heart for thee. Amen.
