GodÂ’s Plan Will Be Accomplished.

The Lord said to Moses, “You shall speak all that I command you.” Exodus 7: 1 – 2

When God told Moses that he was to return to Egypt and to Pharaoh with GodÂ’s message, Moses expressed his fear, and inadequacy for the task. God had it all worked out for him however and Aaron, his older brother was chosen as the spokesperson. God established a chain of command that Moses would follow. God would speak to Moses, Moses would speak to Aaron and Aaron in turn would speak to Pharaoh. Moses would keep nothing back from Aaron who would be able to relay it all to Pharaoh. This was GodÂ’s way of dealing with MosesÂ’ speech impediment that he had declared. Friends, never be afraid of admitting your fears or perceived weaknesses to God. After all, God already knows and has a contingency plan in place. Our failures at times have been as a result of our not admitting our short comings to God. GodÂ’s plan is predominant and will be realized regardless.

Today’s text then, taken in context of the two verses, is God’s saying to Moses, ‘tell everything I command you to Aaron, who will then tell it to Pharaoh’. Moses’ had declared his fear and God had worked out the solution. All they had to do now was follow the chain of command. This, friends, can be a difficult thing at times. Imagine both men entering Pharaoh’s presence and Moses standing in silence. The speaker – Aaron – may well have appeared the dominant one. Moses was comfortable with the way it was however, since it was according to God’s plan. How comfortable are you with following God’s plan, even if in doing so, you appear to be less than you are? Moses had already been told by God that to Pharaoh he would be like God, and Aaron would be his prophet. Moses represented God to Pharaoh, and Aaron represented Moses. It demonstrated Moses’ humility, trust and dependence on God. The agenda was not his, but God’s. The plan was God’s and it was God who would see it through, not Moses.

Friends, as God works through us to fulfill GodÂ’s plans, let us in humility allow it to be done in GodÂ’s way. We are the tools that God use, and the tool can never function without the skilled user. May we willingly be aligned to GodÂ’s purpose for us so that GodÂ’s plan can be fulfilled through us. Know however that with or without Moses, the Hebrews would have been freed. We know of Moses today because of his humble obedience. In the same way, with or without us, GodÂ’s plan will be fulfilled. Will you too be remembered for your obedience to God?

Till next Tuesday, be blessed!
