God Journeys With Us.

I am with you to save you and deliver you, says the Lord. Jeremiah 15:20

Ever felt that when you really needed God to come through for you, it just did not happen? Jeremiah was there and he accused God of not helping him in his hour of need. Whenever we begin to blame God for the condition we are in, we will lose sight GodÂ’s purposes, and will dwell in self-pity. Jeremiah did that by losing focus of GodÂ’s purposes and was feeling sorry for himself. He was angry, hurt, and afraid. How does God react to our frustrations? God never got angry at Jeremiah, but rather answered by rearranging Jeremiah's priorities. As God's mouthpiece, he was to influence the people, not let them influence him. Often we make the same mistake by being more attentive to others than to God. This should never be the case for us as we are seeking fists, GodÂ’s kingdomÂ…. Remember, we are never alone.

There are three important lessons to be fathomed from our text [passage]. Firstly, Prayer affords us the opportunity to be completely open to God. We speak without reservations about our struggles and celebrations. Secondly, the text elicits a level of trust that we will show for no other. It is God who will delivers, defends, and journeys with us. Thirdly, our purpose is to point others to Christ. In our quest for the Kingdom of God, we are expected to become sources of influence in the lives of others. We should purpose within ourselves to ensure that this influence is both visible and admirable.

As we seek to influence others towards God, let us remember that the power of God’s presence enables us for this task. This presence means deliverance for the saints. The presence of God with his people is sufficient to save and deliver them out of all their troubles, and to protect and defend them against all their enemies. Mat 28:20 reminds us of Jesus’ command in the New Testament. ‘…teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Ours is a working journey, but our sufficiency comes from the presence of God with us on the journey.

Till next Tuesday, be blessed!
