MAKE YOUR MOVE!

I must admit that I donÂ’t know the game of chess too well. But from the little I know you have to be able to see ahead of your opponent so that you can MAKE the right MOVE. IÂ’m more familiar with checkers or draughts and like chess it requires of the players to be able to predict the next MOVE that will take place in the game. If you play any of these games just for fun, it can sometimes be very frustrating playing with someone who takes forever to MAKE their MOVE. ItÂ’s as if they want to work through all of the possibilities before MOVING one of the game pieces. Sometimes you can run out of patience and you just want to yell out to the person, stop stalling and just MAKE a MOVE. ThatÂ’s our FF for today; itÂ’s time to MAKE YOUR MOVE!

Just about every game in some way has competitors trying to get the upper hand by intimidating the other. Boxers stand eye to eye. Basketball teams review each otherÂ’s plays. Runners in the race look to see if they can pick up a pattern of those running against them. At the end of the day there is a desire to achieve something and in order to get the prize a definite strategy has to be put in place. Part of that strategy is to know exactly when to MAKE YOUR MOVE. The timing has to be just right. And it is when you MAKE YOUR MOVE at the right time that you can expect to achieve the expected results. But there is also the possibility that the success youÂ’re hoping for may not happen because the same time you MAKE YOUR MOVE, your opponent is also making theirs. But whether win or lose what is praiseworthy is that you were bold and confident enough to MAKE YOUR MOVE.

To MAKE YOUR MOVE then means not just having a dream but doing what it takes to make that dream a reality. To MAKE YOUR MOVE could mean for some just taking that very first step in a very long journey towards the prize that you set before you. To MAKE YOUR MOVE is to be stirred into action. It means making a definite shift and to reposition yourself. To MAKE YOUR MOVE means some extra effort and few more drops of sweat. But not everybody is ready for that. There are some people who fail to MAKE a MOVE because they are still sleeping and dreaming about what they would like to see unfold. Those who fail to MAKE a MOVE are not only fearing failure but are also afraid of what success may bring. To choose to not MAKE a MOVE suggests that you are obviously more comfortable where you are now at and are not as excited and motivated about what could potentially be your new lot in life.

But on the other hand there are those who really do want to MAKE a MOVE but just need some encouragement. The desire to MOVE is strong but the will to actually get up and make the necessary change is lacking. And so could it be that today God has placed you in the path of someone who is ready to MAKE that MOVE but need a gentle shove? If so, then give them the push that they need to MAKE the MOVE. For some it may mean helping them to MAKE the MOVE to get out of an abusive relationship. Others may mean giving them a gentle nudge to advance in their education. Or it could also mean being there for a brother or sister who has been waiting on the Lord to experience the miraculous while all along God has also been waiting on that person to MAKE a MOVE.

There is no secret that God is all powerful and that nothing is too hard for God to do. But yet there are some things in this world that will not come to pass until God’s people are bold enough to MAKE a MOVE. So might we not only pray, “thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” but also consider that maybe for God’s will to be done today, that one more thing is needed. What is it? Just for you to MAKE YOUR MOVE! When we do amazingly everything else falls into their rightful place. So don’t delay anymore. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it’s time to MAKE YOUR MOVE. God is waiting for you!
