Feeling Forgotten?

How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile your name forever? Psalm74:10.

This Psalm is a plea for God to help his people defend his cause and remember his promises. When we feel devastated or forgotten, we can ask God for help, knowing that he hears. From our perspective, God sometimes seem slow to intervene on our behalf. What might appear slow to us is good timing from GodÂ’s perspective. ItÂ’s easy to become impatient while waiting for God to act, but we must never give up on God. When we canÂ’t see his hand we should learn to trust his heart.

Isaiah 55:8 reminds us, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. (N.I.V.). God’s knowledge and wisdom are far greater than ours. We are foolish to try to fit God into our mold-to make his plans and purposes conform to ours. Instead we must strive to fit into God’s plans. When God is silent and you are in deep anguish follow the method of this Psalm. Review the great acts of God throughout history; then review what he has done for you through the years. This will remind you friends that God is at work, not only in history, but also in your life each and every day.
