GOD'S RE-CREATING ME!

Take a lump of clay. Roll it around in your hands. Feel the softness of its texture. Decide what you are going to shape it into. Put it onto a table. Begin to work. Shape that lump of formless clay into whatever you have in mind. Little by little what you imagined is being realized. Your fingers are doing the work. After some time youÂ’re done. Now look at what youÂ’ve created. To others it may not be anything to shout over. But to you, itÂ’s beautiful because you made it. You knew when this clay was nothing more than just a shapeless lump. Now right before your eyes what was once formless now has a distinct shape.

You put it out in the sun to dry for a while. It gets hard over time. Looking again at what youÂ’ve created, you notice that some cracks now appear because of the sunÂ’s heat. The drying process also became the damaging process! The first thought that comes to mind is how do I RE-CREATE my handiwork. But then you realize that itÂ’s no longer as soft as it used to be. You decide to patch the cracks and just smooth them over. Maybe no one will notice. Make some surface changes. Nothing too serious, just cosmetic! Back out in the sun to continue drying. Guess what? The cracks you tried to cover up soon reopened. Some new ones appear too. You make the tough but necessary decision. ThereÂ’s only one thing to do: completely RE-CREATE.

But your creation is already hard from being exposed to the sun. So to RE-CREATE you break it into smaller pieces. It hurts you to do this and youÂ’re disappointed. But with every broken piece you remind yourself that you have something better in mind. You take the broken pieces and pile them all together. Some see this as waste. You see it as raw material to be put to better use. After pouring water on that mound of clay, eventually you have in your hands your original lump of soft clay ready to be RE-CREATED. This time around things will be different. You add more clay. YouÂ’re making sure that this time your creation is stronger. You spend more time on the basics. When youÂ’re done you put it out to dry. Only this time itÂ’s not directly in the sun but in a shaded area with limited sunlight. It still dries. But this time the drying process doesnÂ’t damage what youÂ’ve created.

You stand back and look at what youÂ’ve RE-CREATED. Others see and remember what it once used to be. They too marvel at the new creation. But some just want to remind you of the defects of your old creation. But you have left that behind you. ThatÂ’s in the past. What you now see is what youÂ’ve RE-CREATED.

What you have done to your clay is what God desires to do with your life. And so for our FF for today just pause for a moment and ponder this thought: GODÂ’S RE-CREATING ME. Sin damaged the original me. To remake me God had to break me! But IÂ’m thankful now and yes even rejoicing because GODÂ’S RE-CREATING ME! Just look at what God has done and stand in awe and amazement. Yes, itÂ’s me! Hallelujah! GODÂ’S RE-CREATING ME!
