Psalm 39:12

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; do not be silent at my tears. Psalm 39:12 (NASB)

Life is like grass. In the morning it flourishes and grows up, in the evening it fades and withers (Psalm 90:6). The wind passes over it, and it is gone. And its place knows it no more. (Psalm 103:16) All flesh is grass, and all its goodliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of the Lord blows upon it (Isaiah 40, 6-7). For we are consumed by GodÂ’s anger; by his wrath we are overwhelmed. He has set our iniquities before him, our secret sin in the light of his countenance. All our days pass under his wrath. We spend our years as at tale that is told. (Psalm 90 7-9).Certainly, every man at his best state is but vanity: every man walks about like a shadow: they busy themselves in vain, they heap up and do not know who will gather (Psalm 39:5-6).
And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in you (Psalm 39:7) Look at our mortality, see our misery.

Have mercy on us! Hear my prayer, o Lord, and give ear to my cry; do not be silent at my tears. (Psalm 39:12)
--------------------------------
Lord, you answered me. You rescued me. You gave your only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him, shall not perish but have everlasting life. You did not sent your Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:16-17). He came in the likeness of men being found in the appearance as a man. He humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2: 7-8). He was despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrow and acquainted with grief; surely he has borne our grief, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53 3-5).

You have answered me.

I will tell of your name to my brothers and sisters; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you! (Psalm 22:21).

Prayer:
Most holy Lord and God,
Holy, Almighty God,
Holy and most merciful Saviour,
Thou eternal God;
Grant that we may never
loose the comfort from thy death:
Have mercy, O Lord. Amen.
