Hear My Cry O Lord

Watchword for the Day – For God so loved the world that he gave his
only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may
have eternal life. John 3:16 [USA version]

Friday, Judges 2.11-23 ;Hebrews 11:24-31 [British Version]

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; do not be silent at my
tears. Psalm 39:12 (NASB)

The Psalmist became conscious of the brevity of life and the
inevitability of death. Life is brief and no one can escape
physical death because that is the consequence for sin. The Psalmist
was also conscious of the Divine Reality which confronted him and he
could not escape from God. He was wise enough to recognize that death
need not be a tragedy and the only sure redemption was by turning to
God and cry for help. And he did just that. Hear what he says in v
7&8 "But now Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you. Save me from
all my transgressions; do not make me the score of fools." [NIV.] We
can all learn from the wise ones, Cry to God for help and he will
answer you.
N.T.
We are always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the
life of Jesus may also be made visible in our bodies. 2 Corinthians
4:10

The paradox of our victory march. To the natural eye the Christian
life is fatalistic, they cannot see why all this sacrifice, this
forfeiture of our right to do what comes naturally. And then, as
Christians embrace the hope of victory , there appears on the radar
some of the most painful experiences, despair,
persecutions, perplexities, trials and crosses, which really test your
faith and your resolve to remain in the march, because you know you
are on the right side, i.e. The Lord's side. But as the apostle
writes, 'we carry around in our body the death of Christ, so that the
life of Christ may also be made visible'. Today is Good Friday and
what a timely exhortation. To carry the cross is painful but the day
of Resurrection brings victory. Keep marching in the Lord's army.
The song writer penned these words:
"Who is on the Lord's side ? who will serve the king? who will be His
helpers other lives to bring? Who will leave the world's side who will
face the foe? Who is on the Lord's side? who for Him will go? By thy
call of mercy by thy grace divine, We are on the Lord's side; Saviour
we are thine. 1877. Frances R. Havergal.

Have a blessed day and worship the Lord.
