Isaiah 65:1

I was ready to be sought out by those who did not ask, to be found by those who did not seek me. Isaiah 65:1

So often in life we consider that we have problems on our hands and nowhere to turn – no one to run to. We fiddle with our problems on our own and throw up our hands in despair. We figure there is no help or behave as though there is no help. Sadly, this is often true of Christians. We seem to forget that the eternal God is our refuge and underneath are his everlasting arms. (See Deut.33:27)
God is available. Bear this in mind and avail yourself of the facilities he offers – answers to prayer; solutions to problems; needs met; strength for your journey; protection from harm and danger; victory for every situation. He is truly able. Why let his offer go unheeded and unclaimed? He is ready to be sought and found!

God is available! This is the message of Isaiah to you today. And God’s invitation is: “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near.” (Isa.55:6) Let this Lenten season of reflection be a time when you draw near to God and seek him out.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, remind us that you have invited us to ‘ask, and it shall be given; knock, and it shall be opened; seek, and find’. Remind us that you are available. Teach us how to find you and reap great benefits. Amen.
