Joshua 21:45

Not one of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass. Joshua 21:45

This information is of great comfort to GodÂ’s children, inspiring confidence. It produces the evidence that GodÂ’s commitments are sure. He makes good promises and he makes good on his promises. What he did for Israel he will continue to do.

This therefore supports the call to ‘step out in faith’, as our Provincial Theme this year implores.
What you need he will supply, for he has promised to supply all needs. (See Phil.4:19) You can do anything because he has promised to strengthen you. (See Phil.4:13) He has promised to cover you with his protection lest you dash your foot against a stone. (See Ps.91:11-12)
He therefore calls you to launch out in faith. Step out of the boat and walk on the water towards him. (See Matt.14:22-33) Keep your eyes focused on him and you will remain afloat. Trust him to hold your hand each step of the way and to carry you when your steps falter.

Therefore if God takes you to the edge of the cliff be ready to jump off at his command. Either he will catch you as you fall or he will teach you how to fly. Have faith in him – his commitments are sure. Just as he committed to securing our salvation, he has committed to our constant care!

Prayer:
“Increase our faith, belovèd Lord,
For thou alone canst give
The faith that takes thee at thy word,
The faith by which we live.” Amen.
(Hymn 341 v.1)
