Haggai 2:4b

Take courage, all you people of the land, says the Lord; work, for I am with you, says the Lord of host.   Haggai 2:4b

In these trying times when we are faced with so many challenges, we must be strong in the Lord.  There is the economic situation e.g. the losing of jobs, the rising in the cost of living, the financial situation that is looking dim.  The crime rate and the domestic violence are on the increase.  And the natural disaster that our sister lands are experiencing.

All these things make us wonder what is happening to us.  We must not lose faith, we must be reminded of what the psalmist says: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble; therefore we will not fear.”  God has promised that He will not leave us nor forsake us.  So we must work toward that promise.

Haggai 2:4 tells us all to be strong since he is with us. Life can therefore proceed as normal.  So we must exercise our faith and be strong in the Lord and work toward our spiritual life and trust in the Lord and He will renew our strength.

We are at the end of another year and about to enter a new year. We give the Almighty God thanks and praises for all the blessings which we received and for the ones which we are about to receive.

Prayer:“Bless, O Lord, we pray, thy congregation,Bless each home and family;Bless the youth, the rising generation,Bless the children dear to thee;Bless thy servants, grant them help and favour;
Thee to glorify be their endeavour;
Lord, on thee we humbly call,Let thy blessing rest on all.”    Amen.                                          (Hymn 567)
